High school and college football benefit from G.C. Zarnas – IN ONLY 11 WEEKS, G.C. Zarnas performed over 180,000 square feet of steel abrasive blasting, lead abatement, and applied high-performance coatings, as part of the $3.5 million bleacher repair and lead abatement project at Veterans Memorial Stadium, Scranton!
The stadium project was completed in three phases – before and after images featured here. The first phase included the removal (abrasive blasting) of the lead-based paint off the top of the bleachers. This was followed by the installation of a synthetic track and field, and the renovation of the bleachers (including high-performance coatings), team rooms, locker rooms, concession stands, bathroom facilities, and offices.
Veterans Memorial Stadium is also the home field of The Lackawanna College Football team. For years, Memorial Stadium has been host to major high school and semi-professional football games, dating back nearly 80+ years. G.C. Zarnas was proud to be a part of the restoration and history of the stadium!
